Oily skin?

i know there are quite a few stuff you can put on ur skin if you have oily skin....but i want something that actually keeps the oil away for a few hrs...cause everything i use like goes away in a while...please hlep!
Oily skin?
If you suffer from oily skin, then follow these ten tips to get a healthier glow:

1. Use a gentle gel cleanser. A creamy face wash may leave a residue on your skin, prompting a greasy feel and oily look.

2. Wash twice a day -- no more. Too much washing can dry out your skin, causing it to produce even more oil.

3. Tone carefully. Look for a toner without alcohol, which can cause skin to become dry. Instead, choose a toner with witch hazel or other soothing ingredients, and use after every wash.

4. Don't skip sunscreen. Many women with oily skin forego face lotion. But everyone, no matter what her skin type, needs sunscreen. Use a gel SPF formula.

5. Avoid moisturizing makeup. Foundation for older skin is usually formulated to be moisturizing, which means it contains oils and humectants that your skin doesn't need. Instead, choose an oil-free foundation.

6. Use powder. A translucent powder applied after your foundation will help the base stay smudge-proof all day, and will help curb mid-day greasiness.

7. Blot away shine. Use a blotting paper, made especially to absorb oil without ruining makeup, during the day when you need to squelch shine. Don't cake on lots of powder, which can settle into fine lines and look heavy.

8. Try a mask. A clay-based mask, used once or twice a week, cleanses pores (which often become blocked on women with oily skin).

9. Go for powdered makeup. Eye shadow and blush in powder form will stay put on your oily skin longer than cream- or pencil-based products.

10. Rule out any skin conditions. If you notice your skin becoming more oily, flaky, or breaking out more often, see your dermatologist. He or she may diagnose you with a mild skin condition such as rosacea or seborrhea, which are easily treatable with prescription topical medications.

* Use skin care products specially formulated for oily skin. Then apply a matte oil-free liquid foundation, and then concealer. (Use concealer which is oil-free and medicated to clear spots if you get them. You can get these concealers from Lanc么me, Lancaster and Clearasil). Next apply loose powder to your face. If your skin becomes shiny again later in the day, you can re-touch your face with compressed powder.

wash your face with water regularly, atleast 5 to 6 times a day
Reply:RUBBING ALCOHOL
Reply:Go talk to a dermatologist, seriously. One visit and you'll be hooked up with the good prescription medicine. I have 2 creams I use. One in the morning and one at night. One is an anti-bacterial and the other is (I think) anti-oil. I rarely have any problems now.

Rubbing alcohol does help sometimes. It will pull the extra crap out that soap and water misses.
Reply:have you tried, LEMON JUICE, AND JUMAICAN RUM,

pour LEMON JUICE.

with water, in a BOWL, and wash. then or have you tried take some TANDILINES, put then on water and the juice wash away. and HAVANA RUM.
Reply:I used to have the same problem myself. But then i found out about Spectro Jel cleanser. Ya when i first saw it i thought it wouldn't work just like all the other products did. But there was only one way to find out. I tried it and it work ...Try it yourself...!!!
Reply:Go to Sephora (in a mall or online) and get Smashbox anti-shine. You can put it on over or under makeup and it absorbs extra oil/shine. It was developed by a professional makeup artist - much better than adding more powder on top of your makeup constantly.

I think that the body shop also carries something similar.

You will need to reapply at the end of the day if you are going out that night, (nothing is perfect) but between that and maybe some oil blotting papers you should be fine. It lasts awhile. And don't fret about it - most people get shiny That's why these products were developed. Actors and actresses use them all the time.

Do not use rubbing alcohol or anything harsh on your skin (someone above mentioned it in all caps). It will only create problems and make your skin produce more oil to replace the oils that the alcohol strips out of your skin. Witch hazel is gentle - to cleanse you can use that without any ill effects.
Reply:I use Santa Ives face wash. If i were you i would use the one with micro scrubs and the one for oily skin. use the one with the scrubs twice a week and the one for oily skin twice a day every day that should help and make sure you use oil free make up if you wear make up. if that doesn't help i would ask a dermatologists
Reply:I have combination skin and use all of the following for the past five weeks now:

marykay Oil Mattifier keeps oil off your face for up to 8 hours. cost 15.00

marykay Oil Blotters provide instant releif. cost 5.00

marykay Acne Treatment gel cost 7.00

I have not tried the Oil Control Lotion yet, but it claims to prevent oil breakthrouh and shine for up to 8 hours. It cost 16.00

I also use the marykay timewise set too. I beleive that my skin is actually becoming less oily and is clear because I have been using only one brand of skincare and makeup for over a month now.

My skin tends to be sensitve and combination. I had a very oily t-zone for the past 5 years, before I started using marykay skincare and makeup.
