give it a few hours

it should go back to normal

just give it a few more hours and see what happens. in the mean time, dont pick at it or touch it bc you could make it worse and the dirt/oil on your fingers and under your nails could possible spread it and whatnot.
Reply:it could be a while. neosporin helps alot!
Reply:About an hour depending on the size, which you say is small. My mom always tells me to put ice on it right after to prevent swelling, bring down the redness, and decrease the size of your pores so you don't get an infection. Try some ice and the redness may go away quicker.
Reply:The reason "they" tell you not to pop a pimple is for the very reason you've discovered: it damages the skin. Now, you have a tiny wound. It will now take longer to heal than it would have if you'd left it alone.

The best thing to do is to wash your face VERY regularly, and keep it clean. Use a washcloth, warm water and good soap or cleanser. If the pustules are ready to break (and they have to be READY), they will do so when you rub your face gently with the washcloth.

Even so, if you clean the area and perhaps put a dab of Neosporin on it before you go to bed, it should be fine in the morning.
Reply:In eighth grade I had pretty bad acne covering my forehead chin nose and under my nose. Since I've gotten proactiv, and started doing a lot of research on acne, they say popping pimples is the worst thing you can do. Because when you pop a pimple puss and what not comes out, then even though you think you got it all off that nasty stuff clogs the pores around the pimple you popped, and bam you got new pimples. The red you see around the pimple is just inflamation and irritation. It will go away. But just remember next time you pop a pimple, it causes more acne and can leave permanant scarring. Hope I helped. Oh, and just clean that part of your face well, don't let it get infected. Again, Hope i helped.

Reading the persons answer above me, don't put neosporin on it, you can't treat it like a regular wound.

Thumb rule: don't put anything on a wound you wouldn't put in your eye.
