Does Skin Color Really Matter?

Well,does it?Just curious.

I personally don't think it should matter at all because we'll all of one race, the human race. But why do others still insist on being hateful towards others due to their skin color?

Can it be jealousy?Envy of another group's success?Well, what can it be?

And this may not matter or it may but this comes from someone who's been through some rather "unpleasant" experiences because of my skin color,I'm Asian.

Well,anyone?..o.O
Does Skin Color Really Matter?
Well I'm a Puerto Rican and I really don't think that it matters. It really doesn't matter to me but to people out there in this world most people care. I mean I really don't give a crap of what they think of my skin color or how I talk or anything. I have learned that people are cruel in this world and that I can't care of what they say about me. People think that you have to be just one race to fit in that's wrong. I think your personalty should matter more than where you from or what color your skin is. But you know what they say, "what goes around, comes around". Just don't listen to bad things that they say about you. Ignore them. They are probably jellous because of who you are. Well good luck!! Hope it helps.

Does Skin Color Really Matter?
nope, only to racist

IF WHITE PEOPLE HAVE BETTER LIVES THAN WHY ARE THEY SO HATEFUL?

MY LIFE IS MORE THAN GOOD,
Reply:Sure it does. Does it affect my life. Not in the least. I've been around just about all sorts of people and have found that your character speaks volumes. I demand, not ask, for respect. And my actions give me that right.

Screw the rest. I don't associate with dumb people like Jewel64052. She's a moron we would all laugh at her.
Reply:Yes, it identifies you as a member of a certain tribe or group. One group will always try to dominate over others, it is animal instinct, just like a pride of lions will kill others if they enter their territory or a nest of ants will kills members from another nest.

You see all animals are ultimately competing for limited resources on planet Earth, and as the worlds population explodes we will see more hatred unveil itself.
Reply:Its an excuse. And we (blacks, whites, hispanics etc.) go by it. There is some sort of moderation in the literarate world. It depends who your peers are. You just live by it, my friend. The race, or religion, is just plain ole excuse.
Reply:There are some mean people in this world and they come in all colors. We do seem to have more than our fair share in the black community. It seems as though our own people are our worst enemy sometimes. We have more Jessie Jackson wanna be s than Colin Powells.
Reply:it only matters to you.....
Reply:inferiority complex.

It is human nature to belittle someone else. if its not skin colour its' something else like caste, financial status, religion, regional etc.
Reply:The color of your skin will really matter only you think it does. Don't judge a book by its cover.
Reply:Skin color shouldn't matter, but it does. This assessment can only be made on an individual level. I am Black and American Indian and I have seen it from both sides, as an outsider as well as being a direct target of it. There are far too many variables to name as to what motivates one to be racist. The bottom line is that it is about education, or shall I say lack of it. It is about moral upbringing, character, confidence and the ability to realize that though I may be different in terms of appearance than my neighbor, I still want and require many of the same things.

Culture should only serve to identify us in regard to our place within our family as well as our society. Culture can also contribute positively to society as a whole. We all may differ in appearance but we all tend to want the same things out of life. We may have different ways of achieving these goals, but who's to say who's right or who's wrong when it is all purely objective. It should not be viewed upon as a tool of persecution, ridicule or condemnation.

Of course ignorance such as that displayed by jewel64052 will definately slow down the move to a more understanding and unified America, and it's obvious she harbors a lot of resentment, perhaps from personal experience, but I am willing to be moreso from hearsay. I wonder if she will blame Blacks for her 401k that disappears after all those years of work like in the case Enron scandal.
Reply:As long as retards like jewel64052 exist, skin color will matter.
Reply:Not at all... I think it's only important to those that are shallow enough to think that multiracial people (such as myself) are "ruining" the world. We are more alike than we are different. Ignorant people just need to be made informed- when they are ready to accept their lack of knowledge on the topic.
Reply:I'm not racist but I am happy with my skin color.
Reply:I do not envy other races, I am white and that's what I want to be. I think white people have better lives.
