Hard pimple under skin. Now looks like purple lump?

About a week ago I noticed I had a pimple under the skin on my upper thigh. It hadnt surfaced pr come to a head but was just sitting there under the skin. I stupidly thought if I massaged it and not squeezed, but put light pressure on it from underneath and the sides, I could "encourage" it to come to the surface. Well, it didnt. No its a purple, bruised looking lump about the size of a large blueberry or small raspberry under the skin. The color is uneven. Looks like its a mixture of pus color and purple.


And its a bit tender.





So...yeah how do I get out of that mess. Its hard for me to get to the doctor with my schedule. Im in a new job, dont want to take time out to go to the doctor all the time and I work in a rural area about 45 mins out of town with no doctors nearby. Its hard to get to the doc unless they have Saturday or 6pm appointments which are rare.





Using steam, herbs, home remedies, how can I deal with it? Even go to a local "Botanica" perhaps? Help? Its pretty ugly.

Ibuprofen is only a mild anti-inflammatory, so some of the swelling of the cyst will go down when taking it. Otherwise, it's not gonna make the cyst any better.


My advice is just leave it alone, anything you do will irritate it, and make it hurt worse.If it's really large, try and see a doctor about it.

It might also be an ingrown hair, I get em alot on my legs and they do look and feel like a pimple. Report It

Reply:Basically don't squeeze it if you don't wanna get it infected and a scar. If it doesn't dissapear itself after time, seek a doc, no matter what your job is.
