Dry skin with acne and Bare Minerals?

I have acne and want to buy bare minerals, but which products should I purchase that would do a good job in covering up my acne? Also, since it supposedly says that it helps out your skin, would it also help out my dry acne-prone skin?

make sure you buy the starter kit for your skin tone, and also by the concealer, called well rested. the concealer brush comes in the starter kit. to help out your dry acne-prone skin you should use a moisturizer that is designed for acne prone skin. try something by neutrogena, or clinique.
Reply:I had acne, dont wear tons of makeup its harder for your pours to clean out. I went to the docters and they can give you medicin which just cleared it up. I would try that!
Reply:Hi Rita,

For a lot of people Bare Minerals works, but for myself and quite a few people I work with, not so good. Brands like Bare Minerals and Sheer Cover contain an ingredient: bismuth oxychloride that can further irritate your skin. I found that it left me oily throughout the day as well.

My suggestion, find a mineral based make up free of preservatives and harsh ingredients. I have heard KLS Minerals and Raw Minerals make excellent products, but I have been a devotee to Everyday Minerals because they are not as pricey.

To cover post acne spots (hyper pigmentation) know that it's not going happen over night. When you go outside, make sure you wear an SPF to help cell regeneration and block free radicals. You can use a basic cover up that is wax based, but at nights dab a bit of Vitamin E on the spot only, as it tends to be very sticky.

Hope that helps!!!!
Reply:I am a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant and I recommend using MK products!! MK has a Skin Care Line for Acne prone skin as well as Mineral powder! So you will get BOTH benefits! Yes "natural minerals" are better for you and your skin. You need to TREAT the problem not just try to "cover it". To have a great "look" you have to have GREAT Skin!! I'd be happy to help!
Reply:Bare minerals, or any mineral make up for that matter, doesn't do well with dry skin.

I ordered Bare Minerals a couple of years ago, had dry skin...and a couple of pimples and some little scars that I wanted to cover. It didn't cover anything...and made my skin look ever dryer than it was.

Right now I use ERA's spray on foundation. I don't have dry skin as much anymore, but being that it's winter...my face is dry, but this foundation is perfect for dry, acne prone skin.

I've been using it for a few months now. But it covers EVERYTHING (without the need of concealer)...feels nice on the face, and doesn't make my skin look dry at all (just nice, and dewy). On top of all that let me show you one of the benefits they have listed on their website:

ERA庐 FACE not only looks good on the skin, but IS good for the skin. Its unique formulation provides vital moisture without clogging pores. Botanicals, Aloe Vera and Chamomile soothe and promote healing by allowing skin to breathe. Antioxidant Vitamins C %26amp; E nourish and fortify skin.

If you do order this, they recommend spraying it onto your face (like airbrushing) but I recommend spraying it onto a make up sponge (you still get airbrushed looking results) and "stipple" it onto your skin. You can make it as sheer or as opaque as you'd like.

It's about the cost of a Bare Minerals kit, but lasts a whole lot longer, and works a whole lot better.
Reply:I would stay away from Bare Minerals if you have acne. The bismuth in the ingredients might very well irritate your acne as it has for so many. You should stay with a natural oil free mineral makeup that can actually heal your acne issues.

I have been using kms mineral essentials and I can't believe how amazing it is. I have blemish issues once a month and my makeup has helped it to clear. It also costs a lot less than bare minerals.

I have dry skin too. As long as I remember to moisturize before putting on my makeup, my skin doesn't feel dry.

Reply:If you have acne bare minerals will do nothing to cover I spend $200.00 on bare minerals and I feel like I wasted my money for $3.96 I ordered a free trial of everyday minerals which I love and my skin is already improving. I then turned around and purchased the product for $60.00 I got everything I needed and I am very happy with all of the products including there brushes. I went to a dermatologist and he recommeded dove bar soap and I found a great skin perfecting cream from Murad. He also gave me medicine which has really helped!!!!!!!!
