I recently skinned a snake. It was a spurr of the moment decision, and I really don't have any experience in this field. How do I prevent the skin from drying up? Do I have to buy any tanning treatment? If so, where could I buy some?

You can preserve it with borax. It works better than salt but is not as good as tanning. Tanning requires some hard to get acids and is probably not worth it for a normal skin.
