Arm skin question?

On my upper arms, their kind of rough. I used to have really soft skin on my upper arms, not my armpits, just the top of my upper arms. Does anyone know of a certain lotion, or treatment, or something i can do to just make like the little knicks, and dry skin, and what not to go away??

you need to stick to body wash, don't use bar soap, it will dry your skin to the point that it will look dry even after lotion. Use only mild lotions when you do. buy an exfoliation treatment ( can get st. ives from walmart) that uses only natural ingredients.. also, don't use a washcloth, use a shower puff, it helps with the exfoliation. Also, if you are having really dry skin, or chapped skin in that area, you may want to see a dermatologist. you may have some form of eczema and need some medicated ointment (don't ask for creams, they don't work as well).

you can also try using the same techniques we use for my son's very dry skin. soak in a tub of nice warm water, not hot as hot water can dry the skin, and soak for 10-15 min. after that, don't rub but pat your arms dry. Don't wash them. After you are done, apply lotion or ointment to the skin. a light layer of vaseline will work as well, don't go too heavy or the skin can't breathe. then put on a shirt with sleeves long enough to cover the affected area. continue this until the dry skin goes away, then go back to your normal bathing routine. if you notice the dry skin coming back, you may need to continue your special treatment because it's a sign that you have eczema and you will need to be extra careful with that area of your skin.

One of the bath products you might want to try is using johnson's milk bath, it's a very mild body wash that you can find in the baby aisle of any store, but walmart seems to have the best price on that so far.

aveeno oatmeal lotion

also you need to exfoliate your skin with a scrubby or some of the St IVes facial scrub
Reply:Mabye you have eczema or psoriasis, is it red too? You may need a doctor to prescribe a cream. Otherwise just go to the drugstore and buy a lotion or cream. Stay away from perfumed ones, try like Nivea or something. Don't just go for the pretty bottle.
Reply:Uremol. Its the best cream around. A little pricey but well worth it.
Reply:Make sure water isn't the first ingredient. It has to be petroleum based. I use Aquaphor.
Reply:i read in a magazine once that if you have little dry bumps on the backs of your upper arms, then you might need to take an omega supplement to get the essential fatty acids your body needs. you can get an omega complex or you can use fish body oils...both can be found at GNC.
