About 1/2 inch wide, 1/5 inch long of my upper lip [middle] is not healing. The skin is simply missing. My upper lip would sometimes go through a 4-6 week cycle of healing then dead skin peeling off. But not in the past 8 months.
Over the past 5 months I have tried,
1. Vasaline/Lip Therepy/Carmex/Lip Balms
2. Desonate
3. Triamcinolone Acetinide
4. Changed my diet to a "Zone Diet" by Dr. Sears for blood sugar and insulin purposes.
5. Took vitamin A and prenatal tablets ~1.5x daily.
None have worked. I've seen 4 Dermatologists and 2 doctors. They say "You're doing everything right." But don't know why it isn't healing. They say it doesn't look like it's cancer, herpes or anything like that.
Please help...
Lip Skin not healing, Dermatologists, Please help?
Keep looking for a doctor who won't blow you off by telling you something stupid like that, because obviously SOMEthing is wrong. This is not the normal human condition for your lip to be in and somewhere there is a doctor who will identify the problem and help you! Get on WebMD and email one of their doctors and find every site you can and email those too. If your not healing and skin is missing you may be doing everything right, but you are still NOT healing. It could be a food allergy, or medicine or animal or any number of things and there is a doctor who will help you, you just need to find them. Keep looking until you get an answer!!
Lip Skin not healing, Dermatologists, Please help?
Try taking vitamin a e and c orally and applying pure vitamin e at night to this area..
during the day drink more water (8 ++ glasses)
eat well and use something like Berts Bee - lip balm -
as needed.
Reply:I agree with Madison, find the right doctor to give you the right answer. I know you can surf the net and email different doctors, I sure would give that a try. good luck

I have the same problem here :( please let me know if you have got it healed..
ReplyDeleteMe and my dermatologist have tried:
-vasaline/Carmex/lip balms (all types)
-Advantan fatty ointment (Methyl predisolone aceponate)
-Uptons paste (dermatologist said may help and dissolve the dry plaque of skin that forms)
-Concentrated Vitamin E oil (seems to just make the cycle heal and re-peel faster)
-Cryotherapy..almost worked, but the lesion is now back
I just don't know what to do. Visiting my dermatologist on Wednesday to see what the next thing he is going to try is.
He suggested he excise (cut out) the middle of my upper lip, but i'm scared to do this cause he said there may be a small faint white scar that will remain on my lip :(
Please help...
thanks
