Oily skin!!?

My skin always feels oily and...scabby. Visibly, it looks fine. But I get really clogged and oily pores, and it makes me feel disgusting. I don't want to spend big bucks on cleansers (although go ahead and recommend some good ones!!) so i was wondering...anyone know of some simple home remedies I could try to get my skin smooth, soft and oil-free? I've heard of placing a hot flannel over your face to open up and pores...any other ideas?
Oily skin!!?
do NOT touch your skin with your dirty hands!! use a cleanser...you might think to use something strong cause its oily but NO..It will dry out your skin and cause more break outs.. your skin will produce more oil to make up)...you want to use something that causes your skin to feel clean but not too tight or dry..a ph imbalance will cause more breakouts than if you did nothing. i am a skin care specialist and while i could recommend many things that cost a lot..the one thing i can't do without is oil of olay daily facials...get the one for oily skin...you can get it in the grocery store and they have refillable little tubs..i recommend much more expensive things to my clients but oil of olay has great products...

also..stick to mineral based makeups.they won't clog pores...wash it off ALWAYS before sleeping..take care of your skin....by the way...the previous answer was right..smoking is horrible for your skin...so it scalding hot water...hormones can change your skin...like pregnancy and birth control...(although birth control never changed mine or anyone i know..in fact some pills are known for clearing up skin conditions....)..

use a facewash containing witch hazel - it's inexpensive and will help clear up oily skin. You can also make a home made facial scrub by mixing caster sugar with olive oil to a paste, rub it over your face and rinse. it should smooth away dead skin.
Reply:Biore strips ( yes I use'em..)

oil free/fragrance free Basis soap and Keri Lotion...

don't scrub and don't use HOT water on your skin...(scrubbing and hot water makes skin problems worse.)

If you can, get some Clenia wash from a dermatologist or your regular Dr.

be kind to your oily skin...and it's GREAT to have oily skin..trust me, when you reach 30/40 and still have oily skin, it will look younger and healthier than others who bake themselves outside, smoke, use BC pills and drink. (all of which dry out skin.)
Reply:take a shower every hour......................
Reply:I have oily skin even in winter and I have discovered some remedies that work for me. I use L'Oreal Pure Zone - cleanser, toner, cream while at home and wet towels during the day. the skin really became less oily and smoothier, no pimples!!!

Also, scrubbing is necessary. I buy some inexpensive scrub and add some ground coffee and aroma oil (citrus or tea tree) to it.
Reply:I put talcum Powder on my face after washing. It soaks up all the grease during the day without stripping the skin of natural oils.

(DONT ever use Clearisel it strips your face from its natural oils so your body responds by producing more and more..
Reply:I would recommend that you use ZENMED's Derma Cleanse System. I had oily skin and was using Clearsil, but after three months the skin condition was the same. I used their skin care product and today my skin is soft, oil-free and glows. Its a GREAT product, although a bit pricey, but the end results are good.
Reply:wash ur face wid cold water .Never apply hot water on ur face as it opens the pores and supplies excess oil to the outer skin.and always use to drink lots of water as it will help u to get rid of those excess oils
Reply:Pond's vanishing cream is amazing for oily skin. If you are a girl, use it under foundation and then top that with face powder. It is dirt cheap as well.

And don't stop moisturising- if your skin gets dry and irritated, it will try to produce oil to compensate and you'll end up with even oilier skin.
Reply:Use clay or mud mask once or twice a week as it absorbs excess oil from the skin .For more natural remedies for oily skin and for natural skin care ,check out these sites,

Reply:This is what I suggest and no I did not just copy and paste this from some random website, I have actually tried all of this and yes, it works amazingly great =]

1. Do you have oily/combination or dry/flaky skin?

-For oily/combination. Use a 3 step system such as AcneFree, Clinique, or Proactive. Salicylic acid seems the best for oily/combination skin because it's stronger but it doesn't leave your skin feeling dry. I use Clinique 3 step system (I bought it two months ago) and I am seeing great results as such for the oily skin and my mild acne.

-For dry/flaky skin. I suggest you use benzoyl peroxide, its much gentler for drier skin and will leave your skin feeling moisturized and smooth. Also use SPF moistruizer everyday after cleansing and toning your skin.

2. Use a honey and banana mask 2-3 times a week. Take a little bit of honey and little peices of banana and massage it all together on your face, let it tighten yoru skin for 10 minutes, then risne off with luke warm water and then cold water. It will help prevent breakouts from occuring. After you rinse tha toff, take some clean and clear persa gel 10 (works great!) and dab a little on the pimples/zits you have. Do thsi before going to bed, next morning, rinse off and I swear your skin will feel and look amazing.

3. Do not eat much junk food (its ok to eat every once in awhile but not so much) because base from ym epxerince, I brokeout a lot from greasy foods like pizza, burgers, chips, soda, etc.

4. For bacne, I suggest scrubing your back every morning and night with Netruogena acne body wash. I use to use it and it works failry good, you will notice results in a week ro two
